Finger millet (Eleusine coracana L.) is an important food crop in North west Ethiopia mainly in South Gonder Zone. However, its productivity is very low which is attributed to poor agronomic practices like in-appropriate seeding rates and improper inter row spacing. Therefore, this experiment was conducted at Wonchit Kebele of Dera District, South Gonder Zone during 2019 main cropping season to evaluate the effect of different seeding rates and inter row spacings on yield and yield components of finger millet. The experiment included three levels of seeding rates (15, 20 and 25 kg ha-1) and four inter row spacings (20, 30,40 and 50 cm) were tested in factorial arrangement in Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three replications. Important data related to phenological, vegetative growth, yield and yield related data were collected and analyzed using SAS software (9.0). Mean separation for significant parameters was done by using least significant difference (LSD) method. The analyzed results of variances showed that almost all the agronomic parameters including plant height, number of total and effective tillers, kernel per head, grain yield, number of head, thousand seed weight, straw yield, harvesting index and biomass yield were significantly (p<0.05and (p<0.001) affected by the main and interaction effect of seeding rates and inter row spacing. Whereas, all phenological parameter of finger millet were not affected by the main and interaction effect of seeding rates and inter row spacing. The highest grain yield (3734) kg/ha and biomass yield (20233.8) kg/ha was recorded 30 cm row spacing and 25 kg/ha-1 seeding rate respectively. Similarly, the highest net benefit (87740.8) and MRR (12416) was obtained at 30 cm row spacing and 25 kg/ha seeding rate respectively. Based on agronomic performance and yield result of this study, 25 kg/ ha seeding rate and 30 cm inter row spacing could be recommended to Dera soil and climatic conditions. However, further study has to be done under different seasons and locations to deliver concert and inclusive recommendation.
