A firm’s performance is a function of how well managers use quality management practices to improve the quality of products and services. In today’s global environment, organizations are constantly looking for ways to expand and improve their businesses in terms of quality to enhance performance. The purpose of this study was to look into the impact of quality management system practices (continuous improvement, customer focus, top management commitment) on firm performance (productivity, effectiveness, customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction): the case of Amhara Pipe Factory PLC. This is mainly due to the reason that companies often claim quality management system practices can improve the performance of the organization. The subjects of the study considered in collecting information were, management bodies and employees in kaizen and ISO, procurement, maintenance, production, DGM operations, marketing, quality, and human resource departments of Amhara Pipe Factory Plc.Stratified random sampling technique was used to select samples of the study and in order to achieve the purpose of the study, questionnaires were adopted and administered. The data obtained through the instrument were analyzed and tested for its significance by using inferential statistics (multiple linear regressions) using SPSS version 20 computer software. All significance tests were made at α= 0.05. The results of the study revealed that quality management system practices have a significant impact on firm performance. |
