The purpose of this study was to investigate effects of physical exercise participation on some selected psychological variables of female students in Bahiregiorgies secondary school. The benefit of aerobic physical activity as a psychological variables and contribution to attitude has not been fully appreciated. In this study completed quasi experimental design was employed. To select female students of the study, simple random sample method was used. 7 PE teachers were selected by using purposive sampling technique to gather additional information about female student’s participation level: The study subjects (n= 40) female students in age range from 17-20 were included. Special training or treatment was provided for 20 experimental groups for ten consecutive weeks and no training was provided for 20 control groups. The selected psychological variables self-confidence and motivation. Pre and post-test measurements were taken from all subjects before and after the experimentation, and the data were collected through Standardized questioners were one of the best tools to collect vital information from target groups Trait Sport-Confidence Inventory (TSCI) Adopted by (Vealey, 1986) & Situational Motivation Scale (Guay et al., 2000), the researcher was also conducted questionnaires for PE teachers and observation check list. The study period was ten week and three times per week one hour per day; the statistical technique used in this study was pair sample t-test and Confidence interval test at the significant level of 0.05 was taken from the participant at pre- and post-training programs. Before the training program pre-test was taken from each variable and groups at the end of the training also post-test was taken from the participant and control group. Raw data was statically analyzed by using paired sample T test statistical package for social science version 23. After 10 weeks of physical exercise training the result showed that motivation test control group (MD=.350 & p=.232) while experimental group (MD=10.550 & p=.001), self-confidence test control group (MD= .000 & p= 1.000) while experimental group (MD=11.750 & p= .000), so that experimental group were changed significantly (p<0.05), but there was no significant improvement in control group because (p>0.05) as it compares the pre-test with the post test result. Therefore, it can be concluded that physical exercise training program can improve the motivation and self- confidence of secondary school female students. |
