dc.description.abstract Many research studies say exercises are important for the development of all physical fitness. Similarly, few researches were done on the area of skill related physical fitness components are important factors for the development of football players’ performance. However, no or little research investigation has been conducted on the effect of agility, power, and speed training on players’ performance variables at a football project level in Finote Selam town. Therefore, this study is a move towards feeling such gaps. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of selected skill related physical fitness on players’ performance of U-17 male football project in Finote Selam town. In order to achieve the intention of this research, experimental research design has been implemented and comprehensive sampling technique was used and randomly assigned into experimental (EG) and control group (CG). Mean age of both groups was the same 15.92 years old. Eight weeks intervention program was done for experimental groups for three days per week, 60 minutes per session. In addition to their regular training program they were engaged in diagonal square, t-drill, doable lag vertical jump, squat jump, deceleration shuttle and shuttle run. However, comparison group was only doing their regular training program. The data collected from participants using Illinois agility test for agility, vertical jump test for power, and 30M acceleration test for speed. The physical fitness variables selected for the study were: agility, power, and speed. After administered pre and post-tests, data was analyzed by using SPSS version 23 software of paired sample t-test with the level of significant at (P-value<0.05%). The results also indicated that eight weeks selected physical fitness training has a statistically significant contribution of the players performance on agility, power, and speed for experimental group at (P-value<0.05), however, there were no a statistically significant contribution of the players performance on comparison group. Based on the findings it was conclude that eight weeks selected physical fitness training program has a positive significant effect on the improvements of agility, power, and speed of foo en_US
