dc.description.abstract Energy sector is one of the most important and basic infrastructures in Ethiopia. Moving towards sustainable and green energy technology is one of the targets of Ethiopia to cope up its plan being a middle-income economic country in 2025. Constructing Nuclear Power Plants and using nuclear Technology is one of the targets in this sector. This research helps to arrive at a decision of selecting the appropriate nuclear reactor technology that will be built in Ethiopian economic scenario. The major issue of electricity price from nuclear energy in Ethiopian scenario is evaluated. The various designs, especially three nuclear technologies are also evaluated for their technical capabilities. Determining the Levelized Cost of Electricity and Overnight Capital Cost for the selected project in this research scope, if it can be constructed within the Ethiopian economic scenario is the main emphasis. In addition the influence of Ethiopian labour cost is considered. The Total Capital Investment Cost component of each project are transformed to a localized (Ethiopian) Overnight Cost for projects, if it can be constructed within the Ethiopian economic scenario. The technology with the lowest localized Overnight Capital Cost is identified and selected to be constructed in Ethiopia. The Levelized Cost of Electricity of this technology is evaluated and compared with the current Ethiopian electricity tariffs of other energy sources. en_US
