dc.description.abstract Textile industries produce effluents that are highly complex and are characterized by high BOD, suspended solid dissolved solid, turbidity etc. In this study, coagulation using Moringa oleifera seed was used as a natural coagulant to reduce the suspended and colloidal molecules responsible for turbidity of the waste water. The seed powder was used as a natural coagulant to reduce turbidity, BOD, TDS. The test was carried out with textile effluent with conventional jar test apparatus. Various results were obtained by varying the amount of dose, PH and coagulation time. The coagulant dose used was 6gm, 7.2gm and 8.4 gm. The PH value is 5.5,7 and 8.5 and the mixing time also varied from 15 minute to 45 minute using a 15 minute interval. The optimum coagulant dose for reducing the turbidity, BOD, TS TDS was determined. Hence, it was observed that the highest dose which is 7.2 gm and the optimum mixing time and optimum PH values are 30 minute and 5.5 respectively. At the optimum point 75% of waste the turbidity,76% of the total solid,69% of the total dissolved solid, and 69% of the BOD of the waste water sample were removed using the Moringa oleifera seed coagulants. en_US
