dc.description.abstract A need for high gain and low power operational amplifiers (op-amps) exist for certain applications. This requires research in the area of its gain and lowering power consumption without affecting other parameters drastically. In this thesis work, single stage telescopic CMOS operational amplifier has been designed using 1µm CMOS technology with the help of PSPICE deign and simulation software. High gain is obtained by the device using cascoded MOSFETs. The simulation results show the designed single stage telescopic CMOS op-amp has an open loop gain of 77.777dB, CMRR of 78.433dB, unity gain frequency of 7.3054MHz, slew rate of ±12V/µs, and ICMR of -0.248V to 4.4120V. A 2pF load capacitor is applied in performing a stable phase margin of 80.669 0 . It operates at ±5V power supply with a very low power dissipation of 0.589mW.
