dc.description.abstract Materials found in nature are non-renewable and scares. As the need of peoples increased rapidly, new and modified materials in international manufacturing standard have to be manufactured as well utilized. Bamboo is one of the most useful natural resources in many parts of world. Bamboo plays a major role in the economy of rural people and industry. Bamboo can be preserved either by using chemicals (chemical treatment) or without using chemical (traditional treatment) to prolong their durability. The study explores the oil-heated treatment, water soaking, baking, smoking and water- heated of bamboo. The investigation concentrates on optimization of treatment parameters to enhancement bending strength of bamboo. Different treatment condition tested: at 50 0 C; with palm oil treatment durations of 30min ,treatments at 50 0 C,100 0 C and 150 C; with boil water treatment durations of 30 min. Treatment with water soaking treatment durations of 30 min,1 hr. and 1hr and 30 min, treatment with baking for 20min,40 min and 60 min at 150 0 C treatment durations and treatment with smoking with treatment durations of 30 min,60min and 90min.Then, mechanical tests were carried out on treated bamboos i.e. bending test. The best results were observed on specimens treated in water soaking for 90 min; boiled in oil with 150 0 C for 30 min; boiling in water for 30 min at 150 0 C; smoking for 90 min and baking at 150 0 C for 60 min results the best performance on bamboo sample ultimately. The optimization is done for increasing the bending strength and increased from 92.8968Mpa to 127.053Mpa with minimum error of 2.73%. The confirmatory test was done by taking the optimal parameter values and the result is108.52Mpa which is between critical intervals and shows that the improvement of the response variables is acceptable and also shows that the method that was used to optimize was valid. 0 0 C,100 0 C and 150 en_US
