dc.description.abstract This study designed to assess the main factors that influence the quality of training in west Gojam Zone TVET Colleges. Both primary and secondary data were employed. Questionnaire, interview and observation were the main data collection instruments. Using clustering, purposive and simple random sampling technique 256 sample sizes were selected from populations of trainers, trainees and employers. Questionnaires was designed in open ended, closed ended and likert scales. The research focuses on identifying internal factors: in school management, school environment and facilities, trainers’ competency, instructional resources and materials, and external factors: stakeholders’ participation, board follow-up and budget related factors which affect the quality of training in TVET system. After the data had been collected, it was analyzed using simple statistical techniques statistics for quantitative and descriptive narrations for qualitative data. The research finding analysis showed that poor library service, trainers skill gap and poor management systems were prominent internal factors whereas unfair budget allocation, poor participation of stakeholders and boards were main external influential factors of quality training in west Gojam zone TVET colleges. Among those factors poor library service and stakeholder participation were foremost factors. The researcher recommends respective bodies to solve factors seriously. en_US
