In the 21st century, composite materials are focusing area of manufacturing industries and researches. In textile and apparel industries there is huge amount of waste fabrics generation. Cotton woven fabrics (CWFs) are one of these widely generated wastes. These fabric wastes are removed either in cheaper price or disposed to the environment which causes pollution. In this thesis study these CWF wastes reused as filler material for a roof ceiling composite board development. Woven cotton fabric wastes, jute woven fabric reinforcement and PV-Acetate resin were used with manual screw driven compression moulding. Composite board samples were developed and compared with existing chipboard boards through ASTM and ISO testing standards. Resin mix ratio of 2:1 “resin : waste fabric” give best of both tensile and bending composite board strength. However, tensile and bending strength of composite board reduce with increase in resin mix ratio above 2:1 mixing ratio, and rise with doubling of Jute reinforcement layers with 3:1 resin mixing ratio. Results show waste cotton woven fabrics effectively produce durable and light weight composite board. Hence, the newly developed composite boards could used as an alternative material in roof ceiling application.
