The main purpose of this study is to explore the effects of dressing school uniform on students’ behavior, school attendance, and academic achievement with reference to two public junior schools at Ambo town namely Chari junior secondary school, and Liban-Macha secondary school. A total of 200 students, 18 teachers, and 6 school administrators were participated in the study. While the student participants were selected randomly, the teachers and school administrators were involved using comprehensive sampling method. The data were gathered through questionnaire, interview, and document analysis. The collected data were analyzed through a combination of quantitative and qualitative data analysis techniques. The results of the study reveal that the existing situation of the aforementioned schools is different in using school uniform because while Chari junior secondary school has its own uniform policy contrary to Liban-Macha secondary school which has no uniform policy due to lack of awareness about the purpose of school uniform, and economic problem of most students’ parents. The findings also show that students, teachers, and school administrators who are in the school which requires uniform believe in the positive effects of dressing school uniform on students’ behavior, attendance, and academic achievement. However, students, teachers and school administrators that are from non-uniform requiring school assume dressing school uniform has no effect on students’ learning. Based on the findings of the study, it is concluded that dressing school uniform positively affects students’ behavior, attendance, and academic achievement. Therefore, building on the conclusion it is recommended that non-uniform requiring schools should get awareness regarding the development and implementation policy so that they can become effective in students’ learning.
