dc.description.abstract The purpose of this study was to evaluate and minimization of Fabric Waste by optimizing garment production procedure in Small and Micro Enterprise in Nekemte City. Among obtaining three Enterprises, Walin Garment Production Enterprise (WGPE), Lishani and Senayit Garment Production Enterprise (LSGPE) and Habtamu and Haile Garment Production Enterprise (HHGPE), random sampling was used to select sample respondents. To address the objectives of the study both primary and secondary data sources with quantitative and qualitative data collection methods were used to collect data from 45respondents through questionnaires. There was an observation of fabric wastage of different productions of both men’s and women’s trousers occurred in different stages of the enterprises production. In the three MSEs it was observed that less Marker efficiency with maximum applications of 66.5 %in both men’s and women’s trousers garment productions. Less marker efficiency in these enterprises increases fabric wastages in garment productions. The improvements applied with pattern making procedures and operations in the marker efficiency of fabric utilizations improves the marker’s efficiency to 77 % and improve wastage by 15%. Sewing and finishing defects also need to be improved in the MSE enterprises in trouser garment productions. en_US
