The main objective of this study was to design and develop affordable, adjustable, portable feeding chair for babies of 06 months to 2 years old group in Hawassa, Ethiopia. In order to achieve this objective, the study employed the blend of descriptive and analytical research methods. The target population was identified based on multi-stage sampling frame. From the total of 467 target populations of the specified age group children who exhibited a higher socio-economic homogeneity, 19% sample size (90) was determined to be appropriate for the study. The Primary source data was collected from the samples that were picked up by using Simple Random Method while the secondary source data were gathered from all the accessed literatures which were reviewed in a deep. Having using the interview and observation as a tool, the researcher collected all the primary source data which then was analyzed by a descriptive statistic. The analysis of data collected shown the findings that the existing baby seat/chair has a number of limitations such as availability, price, weight, design and comfortability of the product. Accordingly, this study concluded that there is a need to address for such problems of the existing baby feeding chair/seat. Thus, the author has come with the redesigned and developed baby seat/chair which not only is comfortable, portable, adjustable; but also, affordable than pre-existed one. Based on the major finding recommend that babies eat should always be done while seated at the table or in the highchair. when purchase baby feeding chair check out the weight capacity to make sure if it suits your baby. |
