dc.description.abstract The purpose of this paper is to design and development of a model functional clothing for men with lower limb mobility challenges: A case study of wheelchair users in Amhara region, Ethiopia. This obtains total different values when it is to refer to a series of disadvantaged categories that is the persons with lower limb mobility challenges .It is a certain social responsibility to create equal opportunities for disabled people, the aim to prevent any intentional or unintentional discrimination that they face and apply positive discrimination if necessary to improve their living standards and to let them have an equal share from social development as productive individuals of society. This study was analyzing other similar studies, to received related point to build up and support this research work. In additions to, that it deals with some important topics, required material, product design, approaching standard size chart and working methods are the main components that show how to select the material as well as the procedure and to design sample technique for the study. This investigation is mainly focused the data collected from the 55 respondents and interpreted by using SPSS, graph and table. The study presents the main aspects involved in designing and development functional products for this category of users and market tests. Therefore, the apparel that is specially designed for men with lower limb mobility challenges has to: allow more freedom and independence when is being worn, correspond to the functional point of view, offer psychological benefits and help to socially integrate the individual who wears it. In addition, clothes should not delay the individual’s mobility and of the superior limbs to the maximum, they must be durable, and comfortable. en_US
