| dc.description.abstract | This paper entitled “design and development of contemporary men’s outfit by combining Awramba cultural fabric with Denim”. Although Ethiopia has different clothing culture, a problem was examined and affirmed on men’s outfit issue regarding fitness color and insufficient design variation. So to overcome this problem an objective is established to design and develop men’s collection outfit using Awramba cultural fabric in addition of denim fabric in a contemporary way. So to come up with such Outcome it was necessary to design a scientific method. Starting from field study to the small Ethiopian village of Awramba; in order to collect sample fabric and first-hand source of information. At that juncture the collected fabric has been compared to other Ethiopian traditional fabrics like Shewa oromo, Wolayeta and even with both denim elastic and canvas; by subjecting the fabrics to important physical, mechanical and chemical tests. Then after consideration of the laboratory result, the fabric has been chosen and the design process follows. The mind mapping and the whole Design processes starting from inspirational board to the final look is evidently indicated in the methodology section. The fabric material used (Awra amba, denim, and others for contrasting) analyzed in terms of their physical and chemical property test, which is clearly stated and discussed on the result and discussion chapter. This section also includes analysis of data for research purpose about cultural cloth making enterprises, and finally the design specification sheet, operational breakdown and cost sheet for all designed outfits as a technical package. In the last chapter, for a better result, a possible recommendation was given after all the result points were tied with a conclusion. | en_US |
