dc.description.abstract Ascorbic acid is one of the most import am ingredients of jOOd. fruits. and mm1r pharmaceutical la/!el.\ and preparations. A square w1n•e voltammetric technique using carbon paste electrode was developed for the determination of ascorbic acid content in pharmaceutical tablets. Voltammetrlc measurements were made in a potential range of -100 mV tolOOO mV using a scan • ' <, rate of 50 mVi''s. effect ofp}! was studied on the determination ofascorbic acid in the range o/ 0. 5-6. The irfluence o.f lhl! operational parameters like square wa>'e frequency, square wave amplitude, and step potcn'&il was investigated. The accumulation potential and accumulation time were also optimized. A linear voliammetrlc response was obtained in the concentration rmif{e of teur': 6x10·• with a detection limi: (l.ODj of JJ6xlo-6 Mand limit of quantifiauion fLOQj <1/ 5. 86.i· I 0'6 M The method developed was applied for the determination <if ascorbic acid in phamtbcewical tablets.
