dc.description.abstract The antioxidant activity <!f Three banana (Musa paradisiaca L) fruit varieties (Robusta, "' William 's-2 and DwarfCavendish). obtained from Woramit Horticultural Site. and avocado (Persea Americana Mill.), purchaseafromfruit shops in Bahir Dar City, have been studied by ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRA P) and Rancimai methods. FRAP values of the fruits arc expressed as ascorbic add equivalent antioxidant capacity (AEACj in ,ug AAlg offruit • weight and the Rancimui values are. expressed in terms of' induction index (ll), The FRAP values of the fruit» were 8.4.h0.145, 7.46J.J.14, 6.66-0.04 and 6.27±0.898 and Rancimat result 1-1-t>re 1.076. 1.025, 1.041 and 1.046 for avocado, Robusto, Wil/iam'•·-2 and Dwarf' Cavendish, respectively. Avocado frui: extract showed relatively higher antioxidam activity en_US
