The main purpose of this study-was to assess whether there is within sex and between sex difference and similarities in attraction, intimacy, self disclosure and quality of friendship among the same and cross sex friendship and to examine the general level of self-disclosure, intimacy and quality of friendship in same and cross sex friendship of Bahir Dar university students. To this effect the study followed a' descriptive survey method. The study was conducted in B~hir Dar university main campus undergraduate regular ..;..,tudents. The sample involved w~ 3 7 8 stude~:~/ 189 male and 1<89 female/ which was selected from one college and six faculties from first year up to third year's students using disproportional stratified random sampling methods. The data wer~ collected using questionnaire and analyzed using percentage, paired sample t-test and independent. sample t-test and came up with the following findings; Larger levels and departments; Female attraction tosame sex- intellect and male attraction to same sex proportions of students were formed friendship based on similarity in ethnicity, religion, year male was sexually attracted to cross sex friends. but femal~ not; Female self disclosure, intimacy ' and ~ualify of friendship are higher to same sex than to cross ~ex friends. Whereas, there is no . significance difference in male self disclosure, intimacy and quality of friendship to same and cross *friends/Thus it was suggested that concerned body of the university and stakeholders should .
