dc.description.abstract Data were obtained from l 95 ( 143 males and 52 females) grade 11 students of Addis-Zerncn Secondary School of 2006/2007 Academic Y car using a questionnaire having· 96 items. T-tcst for a single sample study, person product moment correlation and multiple regression were used in data analyses. Results obtained through multiple regressions revealed that, attributing success and failure to effort was the independent variable that I ABSTRAC1_, " strongly predicts their motivation to learn which was followed by the belief on the increasing nature of intelligence. The combined effects of all ... independent variables on the dependent variable were so strong (74.9%). Results obtained thought t-tcst for a single sample study indicated that students believe on the increasing nature of intelligence, are mastery oriented, have high perceived self-efficacy and have high motivation to learn. liinally the implication of the results in relation to classroom learning and overall performance of students arc discussed . en_US
