dc.description.abstract The purpose of the study was to assess teachers' level of job satisfaction, work motivation and commitment; and see its relationships with their job performance. To this effect the study followed a descriptive survey design and mixed analysis method. Questionnaire was applied for data gathering instrument. In the study, all teachers who were employed in Dessie teachers training institute were purposely selected which were 69 male and 6 female teachers. Percentages, t-tests, correlation and regression techniques of data analysis methods were employed to analyze quantitative data and thematic narration were used to interpret qualitative data. The result disclosed that teachers' state of job satisfaction, work motivation and commitment were low, but their job performance evaluation score indicates that, they are relatively good; the social and psychological conditions exert a strong influence on the levels of performance, job satisfaction and even on the mental health of teachers. The study also disclosed that there was a positive relationship among teachers' job satisfaction, work motivation and commitment, but there was no significant relationship with their job performance; Hence teachers job satisfaction, motivation and commitment did not predict their job performance, so all predictors had less contribution to their job performance. In addition school leaders should practice good leadership styles and design appropriate strategy of teachers 'job performance assessments. Vi -, en_US
