dc.description.abstract	Historical enquiry and research in Ethiopia has been for long centered on general themes. "ffowever, in the last decade attempts have made to reconstruct the history of many localities I' Abstract from a local vantage point. To this end, apart from some references made in relation to the general historical developments of Gojjam, it is difficult to find the history of the Warada explained in a relatively detailed way. It is towards filling the gap that the study has conducted. The study concentrated on reconstructing the history of the Warada to 1991. It starts its historical analysis for the Warada by exposing the different developments that Warada had' experienced before the Italian occupation period. The restoration of the Imperial rule and the chan~e! the restored Imperial administration had introduced especially in relation to administration and'land relations and the subsequent reactions of the peasants of the Wafada to economic and political lives of the peoples of the Warada are the major areas of emphasis for the study. Finally, the Warada both during the Imperial and during the Ddrg regime • inadequately furnished with basic socio-economic facilities. C:- the introduced changes are the main themes of analysis for the period between 1941 and 1974.
