dc.description.abstract Land information is a pillar in decision making re/med 10 land investment. development, and management. Information reduces uncertaintv by helping to identify and analyses different multi dimensional problems of the real world. The Objective of this research is to design a spatial based archive database management sys/em for the Adamo city to solve problems of record handling. The specific study area was selected purposely considering there are a high number of records, registration und cancellation of mortgage data and high number of land transactions. the data were collected from external users of the current systems and from experts of the organization . The total number of respondents selected for this research is sixty (60j. The system development cycle method is used in order to analysis 11011 spatial database and the contextual text analysis method is used for usability testing. In addition. Aerial photo of Adamo city which captured in 2012 G.C fa used as primary data source for the purpose of spatial data analysis. Collective views of respondents indicated that since the current archive management system is manual, led Lo data insecurity. inconsistency and not timely. This a.fleets the efficiency and effectiveness of municipal service delivery. The results of respondents show that e1·en though a small loss/ damage of file or document is occurred, no respondents are confident in data security of the current system. In order to resolve these problems the researcher developed the spatial based archive management system and the developed system is tested by the approach of usability testing. Generally, the usability testing result shows that the developed system interface is usable and user friendly and there must he continuous on job training for the users. Key words: approach of usability testing, contextual text analysis method. spatial based archive database management system and system development cycle. en_US
