dc.description.abstract	Tuberculosis is one of the leading causes of mortality worldwide. The recovery time for tuberculosis patients taking different treatments varies among treatment types due to any other factors. Identifying the determinants factors of recovery time helps the patients, physicians, and other concerning bodies to take corrective actions that will save lives. Theobjectiveofthisstudy wasto identify determinant factors of the time to recovery from tuberculosis patients at FelegeHiwotReferral Hospital inBahir Dar.A retrospective study was employed among tuberculosis patients under follow up from January, 2014 to February 2017. A total of 314 Tuberculosis patients were included in the study. Secondary data was extracted from patients’ cards by trained data collectors. The primary outcome variable of the study was the time to recovery from tuberculosis (TB). Descriptive statistics were used to get overall picture of the data. Weibull accelerated failure time model was used to identify determinants of time to recovery from TB.The descriptive analysisshowed that 56 % of patients were having pulmonary TB and 44% extra pulmonary TB.The mean, standard deviation and median time to recovery were5.63, 1.623, and 6 months respectively. TheWeibull regression with accelerated failure time modelwas the bestmodel for the data. Initialweight, disease classification, type of TB,WHOclinicalTB stage,HIV status and work area were the significantfactors for recovery time of TBpatients.This study recommended that the patients were highly in adverse condition which was in chronic stage. This was suggested that remedial actions such as awareness of TB in mass media, through broadcasts and in any other options should do an assignment given to the concerned body.
