| dc.description.abstract | This thesis document is prepared for “Web Enabled Factory Information Management System for Ethiopian Garment Industries” for the case of “Big M Apparel and garment PLC” and concerned with the description of the existing factory information management system and tries to propose different types of models used to form the new system under study. Web enabled factory information management system mainly provides effective and fast data processing and controlling of inventory and Production Work in progress (WIP )related data’s. This web based system of managing factory information for the case study under investigation is expected to control record and manage various activities in the production floor and keep an updated data on the status of their production and inventory related information. In designing such a system, PHP has been engaged as a development language and MySQL as a backend database with CSS being used for designing user interface. Generally, the proposed system would result in significant cost savings for the company by streamlining the inventory control, communication and reporting functionality and makes all the important metrics available for analysis and subsequent decision making in real-time. | en_US |
