Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to identify the Impact of Psychological Treatment on female students and PE teachers Performance in preparatory school level of Dessie town. Taking this purpose as a general objective of the study, a descriptive survey research method was employed to investigate the problem. The target population in the study was female students who were learning at two governmental preparatory schools called Hotie and Memhir Akalewold in Dessie Town. The total numbers of female students in both schools were 1214 and the numbers of physical education teachers were 11. There were 2PE.department heads, 2 representatives of sport clubs, 2 school principals, 2 supervisors and 2 guidance and councilors in each school. From 1214 female students the researcher took 301 (24.79%) of them using Rayan formula (2013). (3questionnaires were discarded due to response errors and 1questionneay do not return it totally).The researcher used Simple Random sampling method to select the respondents followed by a lottery system. Regarding physical education teachers, the researcher took 10 physical education teachers using convenient sampling method. While Physical education teachers, department heads, representative of school sport clubs, guidance and councilors, the school directors and supervisors the researcher took all of them 12 (100%). The questionnaires were prepared for female students and Physical Education teachers. The data obtained from quantitative data were analyzed in percentage, mean and standard deviation by using (SPSS version 20.0) The Semi-structured interview was conducted for 10 Female Students, 2 physical education teachers, 2Physical Education Department Heads, 2Representative of School Sport clubs, 2 School Directors, 2Supervisors, 2Guidance and Councilors of each school. Using a checklist observation was carried out two observations period per week for two successive months to watch the performance of female students. The researcher observed female students physical education achievements for grade 11students, he observed 2017 both the first and second semester result .while, for grade 12 female students 2016 and 2017 both semester achievements, and also, Data obtained from Document analyses starting 2016-2017 Grade 11 and 12 Preparatory Secondary Schools female students were participated in sport club. The data obtained from interview, observation and document analysis were analyzed in words and were triangulated with the responses of the female students and the Physical Education teachers. In this study it was found that the female students were intrinsically motivation are very less and extrinsic motivation scheme are almost not at all; before starting practical session, most of female students were not ordered to be ready physiologically, mentally and psychologically; they did n’t know the concept of self confidence associated with physical exercise; poor learning approach of some physical education teachers provide that female students develop negative attitude towards physical education. Finally, It is recommended that physical education teachers, PE. Department heads and representative of school sport club, the school director, supervisor, guidance and councilors of each school give feed back to fill the gap.
