dc.description.abstract Orphan and vulnerable children are disadvantaged groups mostly subjected to abuse, neglect and exploitation which live in the community with their problems. The magnitude of the problem varies from one area to another. To address the problems of OVC different nongovernmental organizations involved at the national & international level that provide care & support services mostly at orphanages. Currently different community based organizations established to provide care & support services for these children. The main objective of this study aimed to assess the contribution of seven-seventeen community development association for the wellbeing of orphaned and vulnerable children in Bahir Dar City Administration. The study employed mixed research method with case study and cross sectional design for qualitative and quantitative to answer research questions. The participants were 219 OVC who got support from seven-seventeen community development association 4 key informants from the association and 20 families/guardians of OVC with the total of 243. The selection of study participants was made by using purposive sampling technique. The type of services, contribution of the association for OVC, children’s level of satisfaction & challenges are the base question for questionnaire & interview guides. Qualitative data was analyzed by using thematic analysis & data obtained from questionnaires was analyzed quantitatively by using descriptive & inferential statistics. As the finding indicates most participants were received education, psychosocial and health support services. Among the total participants 95.9% get educational material support & they are satisfied by this support where as they are not happy by the expense of en_US
