dc.description.abstract Agriculture, which constituted cereal production, poultry and Animal husbandry, is the backbone of Ethiopia's Economy. The livelihood of millions of Ethiopians is directly or indirectly tied and relies up on it. In short word, human live and agriculture have a more than ten thousand years interactions. Many Ethiopian and foreign scholars hooped to study and contribute their share to this field. I too, attempted to reconstruct a history of animal husbandry and population settlement in Fogara Wardda from 1974 to 2006. In this reconstruction two major historical themes are emphasised. The first is animal husbandry and the second theme ts focused on population settlement. These two themes in turn restructured in to four sounding chapters. To construct a logical objective and reliable historical documents the reasercher gave priorities for primary sources. To this end documents at North Gondar Archival Centre, Fogara Warada and Amhara National RegionalState Agriculture Bureau are extensively collected. To fill the information gaps seen in archival documents and to create tough essay the researcher discussed published, unpublished and electronic sources exist in Bahir Dar University. Elders in Fogara Warada, who played a role as a stakeholder in animal husbandry and settlement scheme, were carefully selected for interview. The evidences from archival documents, literatures and interviews were crosschecked well and carefully constructed so as to construct sounding historical evidences. The historical survey followed by their state of existence, factors related to it and lastly the cronic animal husbandry problems and the impact of villagization on population settlement are outlined well in the document. en_US
