dc.description.abstract The purpose ofthis research is to evaluate the effectiveness offootball training plans and find out factors that affect its effectiveness ofthe national clubs in East Gojjam through descriptive research method. In order to evaluate the training program, the researcher uses the FIFA annual plan preparation format and other necessary documents as a standard ofevaluation. The data was collected from both coaches and trainees through questionnaire, observation and performance tests. Moreover, training plans and documents of clubs were collected. All club players and coaches ofboth Debre Markos University and Debre Markos Kenema football team were participated except injured players especially in performance test. Thus both qualitative and quantitative data were collected. Likewise, both paired sample T-test and descriptive statistics were employed to use inductive analysis method. The results indicate that training plan had significance impact on the quality ofplayingfootball in the national clubs. The result of the study also indicates that the following factors affect the effectiveness oftraining plans and therefore have negative impact in the results of the clubs: lack of appropriate facility for training, poor communication among coaches & trainees, lack ofproper coaching staff, low attention given to the trainings by the concerned body, problem of consistent training plan preparation by coaches, low motivation of players, poor knowledge of the coach how to demonstrate and organize training, the absence of technical advisor for teams, lack of supervision during training to know their level ofperformance are some ofthe findings. Finally it is recommended that establish scientific training plan, fulfilling the coaching staff and technical supportfrom the concerned bodies are necessary. en_US
