dc.description.abstract This research work examined the effects of emotional intelligence and self-efficacy on occupational stress and the relationship of these thr.ee variables. The subjects of the study were 96 that were taken from seven secondary schools of Bahir Dar namely, Bahir Dar academy, Tan Haik, Bahir Dar preparatory, Fasio, SOS, Catholic and Ghion by using . comprehensive sampling techniques. Data were collected using questionnaire. To analyze the data correlation analysis, regression analysis and t-test were used. The results of the con'elation analysis revealed that emotional intelligence and occupational stress ~ correlated negatively but not significant. The correlation of self-efficacy and occupational stress was negative and significant. Emotional intelligence and self-efficacy correlated positiv~ly & significantly. The results of the multiple regression analysis revealed that emotional intelligence is not significantly affected occupational stresS. But self-efficacy significantly affected occupational stress. The results of t-test revealed that there was no significant difference between male and female secondary school leaders' emotional intelligence and occupational stress. In the case of self-efficacy there was significant difference that is male secondary school leaders seem to be more efficious than females. III " en_US
