dc.description.abstract Resettlement in Ethiopia was a rare exercise before the 1984-1985 famine. There were some attempts made to- resettle Pastoralis but it was after that large-scale famine affected many part of Ethiopia that it was carried out vigorously by the Ethiopia government. This study tries to look in to the process of resettlement in one of those resettlement areas' Abobo Warada o.f Gambella region and its impacts. It also tries to deal with the fate of resettler after he change of government in the country in 1991. A variety of sources have been utilized in the production of the thesis. The research revealed that the resettles faced a number of challenges n the .. area. These challenges came mainly from the poor prematurity of the program itself, from the hottest ctimatic condition of the areas they resettled. And from the indigenous people ·who saw from as eremites. As a result when we see the outcomes of the resettlement program, it can be consider~d as a failure. Generally, today. Few of few of those resettlement villages left . that were established at the time. en_US
