dc.description.abstract This study focuses on synthesizing, characterizing, and exploring the electrochemical properties of resorcinolate, 2,2’-bipyridine, and their Cu(II) metal complexes. Various techniques such as FT-IR, UV-Vis, ICP-OES, and CV spectroscopy were employed to characterize the complexes [Cu(H2O)4(HR)2], [Cu(H2O)2(HR)2(Bipy)], and [Cu(HR)2(Bipy)2]. The findings suggest that copper ions form octahedral complexes with resorcinol and 2,2’-bipyridine ligands. Experimental data supported the successful synthesis of these complexes. Cyclic voltammetry revealed that [Cu(H2O)4(HR)2] is reversible but less stable, while [Cu(H2O)2(HR)2(Bipy)] and [Cu(HR)2(Bipy)2] are irreversible yet highly stable. The current enhancement and potential shifts revealed that each of the complexes were polymerized over the glassy carbon electrode. This indicated the potential application of these complexes for electrode and other surface modifications for the purpose of sensor applications. en_US
