dc.description.abstract It is pity that many individuals who contributed a lot to their people and country in different fields are forgotten after their death. In the absence of written records, their contribution could not be transformed to the next generation as a source of inspiration. Therefore, the main objective of this study is primarily to honor and acknowledge important personalities like Dajjazmac Abdra Yemam, in order not remain their deeds, achievements and contributions hidden, without being known to the public at large. In light of this fact, I have decided to write the> biography of Dojjazmac Abara Yemam, who was a well-known and redoubtable patriot during the Italo-Ethiopian war of 1935-1936 at the battle of Sire, and after the battle of Maychdw in waging guerrilla warfare against Italian occupation in his district Meche and the surrounding wdrddas to greater extent. Dajjazmac Abara Yemam was also a remarkable administrator of Mecha wdrdda and its surrounding areas from 1943-1950. In addition to his patriotic struggle against Italy and administration skill, Dojjazmac Abara Yemam was well known in history by organizing and leading the peasants rebellion from 1950-1953 in the Western half of the province of Gojjam in general and that of the district of Mecha and its surrounding wariidas in particular. Moreover, the study deals with the family background, birth, growth, education, career, and important achievements of Dajjazmac Abara Yemam from I 91 O J 97 3. By this thesis, an attempt is also made to describe the role of Diijjazmac A bara Yemam to the growth and development of the town of Mdrawi, the center of the district of Mecha. Finally, the study also tried to discuss the imprisonment, death and the burial ceremony of this renowned patriot, administrator, and rebellion leader in Gojjam, Dtijjazmac Abara Yemam . en_US
