dc.description.abstract This thesis is about the history of Este District from 1941 to 2005. The study is based on written materials and document found in local as well as national archives and on the collection of oral traditions and information. The thesis gives an analysis of the participation of the people of Este district in defending their country against the Italian invasion and the sacrifice paid by the patriots of the district in the period of resistance after the areas was occupied by the Italians. The administrative rearrangements, the relationship between government officials, the people in relation to land and tax, and the infrastructural history of the district is including. More over the reforms of the Darg such as the land reform, the establishment of producer's cooperatives, Villagization, basic education, and the positive and negative accomplishments of the 9arg, the struggle between the Darg and its opponents are described. en_US
