dc.description.abstract	Background ; Delivering Compassionate and Respectful Care is essential to high quality health care and it is at the heart of our health system. Objectives ; To assess implementation of Compassionate and Respectful Care and its associated factors among health care provider in South Gondar hospitals 2021. Method; Institutional based cross sectional study design with mixed research method was conducted from March 18 to April 18, 2021. A total of 420 study units were selected by Simple random sampling technique among total of 1017 care providers quantitative design and purposive sampling for qualitative design was employed .The collected data was checked, coded, categorized and entered into Epi data version 3.1 and it was exported to Statistical Package for Social Sciences version 26 windows statistical software for analysis. Binary logistic regression was done to identify association between each independent variable with the outcome variable. Then after, factors which have p value ≤0.25 in binary logistic regression was candidate for multivariate logistic regression. Factors p value<0.05 was considered as predictors of the outcome variable. Result; implementation of compassionate care among health care provider was reported as 50.7%. Female gender,(P=0.030), Favorable attitude towards compassionate and respectful care(P<0.001) training(P=0.002) and profession were significantly associated with compassionate care practice. Respectful care among health care provider was reported as 52.4% . Income (P=0.039) professional attitude(P<0.001) and training (P=0.032) were significantly associated with respectful care. The over all implementation of CRC was found to be 51.7%. Thematic analysis was carried out for qualitative data in to three themes which are implementation of compassionate and respectful care , evaluation and monitoring system of and Barriers of implementation of compassionate and respectful care . Conclusion and recommendation; In this study half of the Health care providers had good compassionate and respectful practice. Health care provider should have positive attitude and practice compassionate and respectful care according to strategy, different stake holder in health sectors should be involve by providing supplies, by facilitate training, and by performing continuous monitoring and evaluation.
