dc.description.abstract Background: Asymptomatic malaria is commonly found in both high and low transmission settings. Since asymptomatic infection presents no overt sign and symptoms, they do not get clinical attention. In low transmission settings, massive asymptomatic cases are easily missed by the conventional malaria diagnostic tests. Though asymptomatic infection becomes the major threat for malaria control and elimination programs, its prevalence is poorly understood in Ethiopia particularly in the study area. en_US
