dc.description.abstract Background Portal HTN which is a global burden in the world with different complications among which varicial bleeding is the most killer one[1].Non selective beta blockers are very important first step drugs used for both as primary and secondary prophylaxis for portal HTN to prevent varicial bleeding,. Unfortunately, many patients with portal hypertension are not receiving ß-blocker therapy or are not on doses adequate to attain therapeutic results, to achieve at least target pulse rate and ,only 38% patients with beta blockers achieve target pulse rate in Indian study 2009[2]. en_US
