dc.description.abstract Background Poor glycemic control is the most challenging issue in diabetes care as shown from different studies globally. Worldwide, around forty to sixty percent of patients have poorly controlled diabetes. Glycated hemoglobin value is the most standard monitoring parameter for appropriate glycemic control status. Its level above seven percent has highly associated with an increased risk of both macrovascular and microvascular complications. Published data in the study area, Bahir Dar City was not available. Therefore, this study tried to fill the gaps observed. This study also assessed level of glycemic control and describing the risk of complications among diabetic patients using glycated hemoglobin en_US
