dc.description.abstract Abstract In this project, we have studied a mathematical model of the dynamics of HBV infection and applied on pregnant women in West Gojjam administrative zone using deterministic SIR mathematical model. We estimated the transmission rate () =3.72 and the basic reproductive number R 0 =3.85 for chose of A = =0.015and R =3.11 for chose of A = =0.248. According to the results of this project, whenever the transmission rate parameter value is increased, R 0 > 1, the disease-free equilibrium is unstable and the endemic equilibrium is stable , but when the transmission rate parameter value is reduced, R <1, the endemic equilibrium is unstable and disease-free equilibrium is stable. Numerical simulations are also performed using MATLAB to understand the behavior and the future dynamics of HBV infection of pregnant women in West Gojjam administrative zone. 0 0 en_US
