Abstract:
The purpose of this work is aimed on solving Amhara Pipe Factory plc in the die replacement of the pipe extrusion machine. The existing assembling and dismantling processes is using forklift machine and this work is aimed to change that practice to suitable crane machine which can be manufactured in our country by the factory. And the project is covered all the detailed design of the crane.
This work presents theoretical and numerical analysis of crane machine which is designed for Amhara Pipe Factory P.L.C. The analysis is completed starting from the requirement list and following to conceptual design, detailed design analysis of the crane parts, result and discussion, conclusion and recommendation and references.
The conceptual design part contains all the possible alternatives and the weaknesses of the solution variants and the evaluations of the selected solution variants in both economical and technical criteria and finally, the variant which scores maximum percentage is selected as solution for the problem.
The detailed design analysis part contains the manual design analysis of the crane parts and the numerical results solved using ANSYS 15 Workbench. Finally the optimum possible crane for the factory is designed and modeled with solid works in 3-dimensional and 2-dimensional modeling. The working principles in 3-D and using solid work model and the used lifting machine standards and its capacity and the part drawings of the crane at the appendix are shown in detail.
The crane has rectangular hollow section leg supports having dimensions of 132mm by 132mm and thickness of 5.4mm with a length of 5.6m. The horizontal beams are of fixed and moving beams. The fixed beam carries the overall structure of the crane and has dimensions of 200mm by 200mm in the heavy weight I-beam group. And the moving beam caries the dead load and the lifting motor and has dimension of 180mm by 180mm in the same group with that of the fixed beam.
