dc.description.abstract Legal decision-making process is one of the basic determinants of political and socioeconomic development of a country. Efficient judicial sector is a core component of a democratic state to improve its governmental system and to establish trustful linkage between the experts and other people. Legal decision-making institutions play a vital role on conflict resolution and establishing integrity inside and outside the country however, there is imbalance between the interest of people expecting fair, fast and efficient decision from court system institutions and the quality of decisions forwarding from the legal decision-making institutions to individuals. To avoid or minimize the occurrence of imbalance between need and supply of quality decision from courts, we proposed an v integrated model of a case based and rule based problem solving approach for legal decision-making process performance improvement. For model development we collected cases‟ data from courts of different level for analysis purpose, case studying, model development, prototype design and testing. The prototype implementation and testing have been done using the Microsoft Visual studio 2012 for interfacing and code writing. Database tools also used to store cases, which are used for future similarity measure for case based reasoning component of the integrated approach. The finding of the experimentation is expressed in terms of capability of the prototype to support the legal decision-making process in courts. We found a decision result which has been done based on the evidences or case information given by judges or other experts. The result of the prototype showed close similarity between results of manual decisions done by judges and decision generated by the prototype. This close similarity result is an initiative result to conclude as integrated legal decision-making model is preferable and efficient solution to support judges by sharing their load by making semi-automated knowledge based system. en_US
