dc.description.abstract Planning, operation, controlling, and follow-up of execution maintenance activities are the main constitutes of aircraft maintenance planning production scheduling. There is large number of components involved at various planning and execution phase and this is the complex problems as the size and nature of resource intensive maintenance projects carried out. Aircraft Maintenance planning and production scheduling are the most decision area has Ethiopian airlines has to make during its operation. Though production scheduling comes as an end stages in the operation, since it has a potential for cost saving. Maintenance scheduling is an easily understood but difficult to solve problem because potential problems usually happen during maintenance execution. Ethiopian Airlines is highly affected in aircraft maintenance planning and production scheduling integration as there are many maintenance jobs overlaps in aircraft maintenance planning and production planning and control sections. This paper reports examines the current existing system of aircraft maintenance planning and production planning overlap activities, and lack of integration between the two departments and forwarded developed enhanced integration system development to tackle the problems. Testing of aircraft maintenance planning and production scheduling based on the scheduled maintenance plan and actual ones are compared and enhanced system is suggested and conclusions are drawn based on the data analysis. This paper concludes that aircraft maintenance plans and production scheduling key processes in defining maintenance work package definition up to execution and improving on key areas with integrated system which plays crucial role of delivering airworthy aircraft for flight. en_US
