dc.description.abstract For developing countries, like Ethiopia, who have insufficient number of physicians and who emigrate every year, finding the physician face to face is difficult. Even the health facilities are sparsely located especially in rural areas. Peoples who are infected in HIV virus, who have STD, home workers, elders, poor, and /or peoples who are far from medical facility need remote counseling, guidance and monitoring. This research discusses a forward-looking innovative e-health service that helps to provide effective service to patients which has various reasons to go to hospital or clinic to have medical support and counseling and maximizes the efficiency of physicians. This work proposes the use of mobile for real-time communication between patient and physician. Patients will have the smart phone, with the app installed on it, to see the available physician who signed in to deliver a counseling and advice. The client mobile app will run in two modes (patient mode and physician mode). Therefore, the research focusses on design, implement and evaluate the performance of the patientphysician communication framework. The framework will be easily adapted to other problem domain, like education. The patients and physicians can communicate on real-time fashion by using instant messaging, audio calling, and video calling and file sharing. The framework brings a convenient, hand-held, and secure platform for tele-consultation as well as education and knowledge sharing between physicians. The name given to the framework is AmanHealth. Aman is a term used to express peace and good will in Geez, Amharic and Tigrigna languages. AmanHealth contributes to remote advising and counseling, create informed citizens on health, experience sharing between patients and physicians and/or physicians to physicians all over the world. en_US
