<description>DETERMINANTS OF CUSTOMER RETENTION IN ETHIOPIAN COMMERCIAL BANKS IN THE CASE OF BAHIR DAR BRANCHES
FETENE, LIJADIS
The general objective of this study is to examine the determinants of customer retention in &#13;
Ethiopian commercial banks in the case of Bahir Dar branches with a view of the local banking &#13;
industry market context. To attain this objective five factors namely quality customer service, &#13;
trust, customer satisfaction, switching cost, and customer relationship were considered as &#13;
predictors for the analysis of the study based on the review of related literature. Explanatory &#13;
research design and quantitative approach were employed to analyze data. The hypotheses &#13;
were tested on a sample of 366 out of 384 respondents of commercial banks customers giving a &#13;
valid response of 95.3%. The data collection process was done using a self- administered &#13;
questionnaire filled out by customers and it has taken place in different branch premises of the &#13;
selected banks. The statistical package for social science (SPPS) V.26 .was used to analyze the &#13;
data collected. Reliability analysis, correlation, and regression analyses were used to analyze &#13;
the data. Based on adjusted R2 of the study independent predictors explain 67.9% of the &#13;
variation in customer retention. Besides all independent variables (quality customer service, &#13;
customer satisfaction, customer relationship, Trust, and switching cost have a significant &#13;
correlation with the dependent variable “customer retention. The results of regression analysis &#13;
also showed that all predictors have a significant influence on customer retention. In this case, &#13;
trust, customer satisfaction, and switching costs were the major predictor of customer retention &#13;
than the other two independent variables. Given these findings, recommendations were &#13;
forwarded to the management of banks to focus and have in-depth insights on predictors of &#13;
customer retention to develop and implement the appropriate policies and procedures to &#13;
enhance the retention of their existing customers.

<description>DETERMINANT OF KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT PRACTICES: THE CASE OF SELECTED PRIVET BANKS IN BAHIRDAR CITY.
OSMAN, HAKIMA
The main objective of this study is to examine the determinants of knowledge management &#13;
practice in case of some selected private banks operating in Bahir Dar city. Quantitative &#13;
research approach and explanatory research design with cross sectional data collection method &#13;
were used. Six private banks were selected purposively based on operation experience, openness &#13;
to technological advancement and new technology acceptance. A sample of 266 were selected by &#13;
simple random sampling technique and questionnaires were distributed for each respondent. 242 &#13;
questionnaires were filed appropriately and returned. The data were analyzed using descriptive &#13;
and inferential analysis techniques. The result of correlation indicated all included independent &#13;
variable have associate with the dependent variable and the overall result of r=.845. The study &#13;
found that organizational culture, organization structure, information technology, human &#13;
resource management practice and management support have significant and positive effect on &#13;
knowledge management practice in case of private banks operating in Bahir Dar city.  The &#13;
model with these determinants was found to predict 70.8% of the variability of dependent &#13;
variable leaving the remaining 29.2% to variables not included in this study. &#13;
Finally the researcher recommends that improving organizational structure has the highest &#13;
effect on the knowledge management practice.

<title>DETERMINANTS OF TELEBIRR MOBILE MONEY SERVICE ADOPTION IN CASE OF GONDAR CITY</title>
<link>http://ir.bdu.edu.et/handle/123456789/16959</link>
<description>DETERMINANTS OF TELEBIRR MOBILE MONEY SERVICE ADOPTION IN CASE OF GONDAR CITY
TADESSE, ETHUN
The convergence of telecommunication and banking services in the world has created &#13;
opportunities for the emergence of mobile commerce, in particular mobile money services, which &#13;
provide time independence, convenience and cost saving for customers. However, its adoption by &#13;
the community still needs improvement compared to its potential. The main objective of this &#13;
study is to investigate determinants of adoption of telebirr mobile money service in the case of &#13;
Gondar city telebirr customers. Quantitative research approach and explanatory research &#13;
design was employed to examine six influencing factors namely awareness, perceived usefulness, &#13;
perceived ease of use, prior technological knowledge, perceived risk and relative advantage. The &#13;
researcher used convenience-sampling technique used as a sampling method to select sample &#13;
respondents. 384 questionnaires were distributed to selected respondents and 318 were returned. &#13;
The data has been analyzed using descriptive and inferential analysis techniques frequency, &#13;
mean, correlation and multiple linear regression analysis.  The result of correlation indicated all &#13;
included independent variable have associate with the dependent variable. The study found that &#13;
awareness, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, and prior technological knowledge have &#13;
significant and positive impact Telebirr mobile money service adoption and perceived risk has &#13;
significant and negative impact on Telebirr mobile money service adoption. However, relative &#13;
advantage does not affect Telebirr mobile money service adoption significantly. The model with &#13;
these influencing determinants was found to predict 61.5% of the variability of dependent &#13;
variable leaving the remaining 38.5% to variables not included in this study. &#13;
The researcher recommends that Ethio-Telecom should realize the effect of determinants factors, &#13;
draft, and implement appropriate strategies.

<title>THE EFFECT OF STRATEGIC HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT ON ORGANIZATIONAL PERFORMANCE A CASE OF BAHIR DAR TEXTILE FACTORY</title>
<link>http://ir.bdu.edu.et/handle/123456789/16958</link>
<description>THE EFFECT OF STRATEGIC HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT ON ORGANIZATIONAL PERFORMANCE A CASE OF BAHIR DAR TEXTILE FACTORY
MELAK, BISRAT
The objective of this study was to examine the effect of strategic human resource management on &#13;
organization performance in case of Bahir dar textile factory. Quantitative research approach &#13;
and explanatory research design was employed. In order to select sample from the entire &#13;
population Stratified random sampling was adopted as a sampling method. The data has been &#13;
analyzed using descriptive and inferential analysis techniques frequency, mean, correlation and &#13;
multiple linear regression analysis supported with SPSS version 26. The study found that &#13;
alignment of HR policies and practice with organization objective, integration of HR policies &#13;
and practice with business strategy, focused on long-term goals and objectives and emphasis for &#13;
employee development has positive and significant effect on organization performance. The &#13;
model with these variables was found to predict 76.6% of the variability of organization &#13;
performance leaving the remaining 23.4 % to variables not included in this study. It is suggested &#13;
that there should be concrete focuses on long term goal rather than sort term goal by giving &#13;
learning and development for factory employees and should aligned human resource activities &#13;
with their objective that makes increase performance of the factory.
