<description>Compering The Effect Of Continous and Interva Training On Some Selected Physical Fitness Variables Among U-17 Male Football Project Players
Bahiru, Misganaw
Continuous and interval training is one of sport activities that has a positive effect on trainees in physical fitness performance as a result of this, it acquires a wide attention locally and globally, so it concerns with the variety of training method as a basic requirements for improvement of physical fitness. The objectives of the study were to determine the comparative effect of continuous and interval training on some selected physical fitness variables among u-17male football project players. To achieve the purpose, pure experimental design was used. 24 u-17male football project players were taken by comprehensive sampling technique as a sample study whose age was 14 – 17 years. Continuous and interval training group were assigned by random sampling method and performed continuous and interval training respectively three days per week for 3-month and 60second per session. Both groups undergone training program and had taken pre and post-tests. So, all subjects participated in 5 selected physical fitness performance tests: 12 minute run test, Illinoi agility test, 30 meter sprinting test, pull up test and sit and reach test. The data collected from the study subjects was analyzed using SPSS version 20 software by paired sample t-test, ANOVA, and independent sample t- test of significant at 0.05 level of confidence. Continuous training groups were significantly increased on cardiovascular endurance (MD=54.375), Strength (MD=4.875) , flexibility(MD=1.037), agility(MD=-2.000 ) and speed(MD=-0.832). Interval training groups were not significantly increased on dependent. So, the result of the study indicates that, continuous training groups were performed better than interval training group on the level of cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, flexibility, agility, and speed. So I concluded that continuous training was as effective as interval trainings for enhancement of all the selected physical fitness in twelve weeks training programs. But additional longer-term study with follow-ups is required to confirm this

<description>The Effect f Plyometric Training on Handball Skills of Male Secondary School Students
Tesfaye, Mulugeta
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of plyometric training on selected technical skills performance of grade 12 students’ at Mengesha Jemberie comprehensive secondary school ,Dangila, Ethiopia. The total subject for the study were forty (n =40) male grade twelve (12th) , who were selected via simple random sampling technique, students of mengesha Jembrie comprehensive secondary school in Dangila, Ethiopia 2023.. Through randomization students were assigned in to two groups, an experimental group (n=20) and a control group (n=20). The experimental group (EG) performed twelve-week low to moderate plyometric training, 3-days per week for a total of 60 minutes and the control group (CG) also performed twelve-week basic handball training 2 days per week for 60 minutes duration. The data was collected through field technical skill tests , viz., jump shoot test for jumping accuracy, accuracy throw test for passing accuracy and vertical jump test for explosive power. The data were analyzed via Paired sample t-test and Independent sample t-test by using SPSS version 23 with significance level of 0.05.Based on the analyzed data, the pre-posttest performance of EG were significantly improved in passing accuracy, shooting accuracy and vertical jump (p=0.001, p &lt;0.05).similarly, the independent t-test shows the posttest performance of these variables in EG were significantly more improved than posttest result of CG (p=0.001, hence p&lt;0.05). The results of this study shows that 12 weeks plyometric training improves shooting accuracy, passing accuracy and vertical jump explosiveness of grade 12th male students’ technical skills performance. Therefore the study recommend that coaches and sport science teachers should give concentration to plyometric training in their coaching and teaching handball practice.

<description>Relationship Among Coaching Styles 0n Players’ Motivation and Satisfaction In Ethiopian Handball Premier League
Getachew, Simachew
Coaching leadership in sport was important because the coach-athlete relationship was considered as a crucial factor in the sport setting. Coaches influence not only the technical and tactical capabilities of players, but also the psychological factors. Hence, this study investigated the relationship among coaching style on players’ motivation and satisfaction in handball. To meet the purpose of the study descriptive survey method was employed. Participants were selected using comprehensive sampling method so that all handball players in the eight premier league teams, coaches, and key informant from the Ethiopian handball federation were samples of the study. To collect data questionnaires, observation, and interview were used. Standardized questionnaires: LSS, SMS, SSA and interview questions were validated. The collected data were analyzed by t-tests, Pearson’s product moment correlation coefficient, one way ANOVA, and regression analysis via SPSS (Version26). The result indicated that the preferred and perceived coaching styles have significant correlation coefficient(r=.272, .291, .238) for training and instruction, democratic, and positive feedback sub scores respectively (P = &lt;0.01). Players’ motivation found to be average and it was more of the extrinsic type with a mean score of (3.06) whereas the intrinsic (3.04). Regarding satisfaction, players found to have satisfaction which is high mean score of (5.02) in all the three sub scores. With respect to the relation between coaching styles and satisfaction of players the highest value exhibited is the correlation between training and instruction coaching style and satisfaction of players that ranges from r=0.238 to 0.402. In the case of the relative contribution of coaching styles to motivation, it is found insignificant except the autocratic coaching style significant at alpha (p=0.05), the contribution of coaching style to satisfaction of players was significant with a value of (p=0.05), Based on the finding, preferred and perceived styles of coaching have no correlation. Besides, leadership styles of coaches have significant relation with satisfaction of players whereas motivation is very low. It is forwarded that; coaches have to use different coaching styles according to preference of players and situations that players are living in; coaches to use different ways of motivating players. Finally further researches have to be conducted considering other variables to increase athlete’s motivation.

<description>The Psychological Attributes of Ethiopian Handball Premier League Players
Sultan, Nuri
It seems reasonable to propose the idea that people would know more about their potential, if they understand themselves better and what drives their motivation. The reason is that they do not know their potential well enough. Knowing who they are and what they can do is important in sports, especially in team sports like handball. Understanding their potential will help them to be beneficial to achieve greater achievement and success in their range of sports participation. To date, the levels of psychological attributes, like mental toughness, self-confidence, and mental imagery were presented within the Ethiopian handball premier league have not been reported and we do not knew. Therefore, the objective of this study was to identify the psychological attributes of Ethiopian handball premier league players. To address the given objective a descriptive research design with quantitative survey approach was used. The data was collected by standard questionnaire and analyzed by using SPSS version 26. It is found that mental toughness of the players is moderate level, and there is no statistically significant difference between clubs regarding mental toughness. The self-confidence of the players is high, and there is no statistically significant difference between clubs regarding self-confidence. Mental imagery of the players found to be moderate level, and there is a statistically significant difference between clubs regarding mental imagery. According to the results the researcher concluded that the current level of payer`s mental toughness is identified to a moderate level and players playing in different clubs were the same level of mental toughness, current level of player`s self-confidence was described high level of self-confidence, and players playing in different clubs are almost the same level of self-confidence, and also the current level of players’ mental imagery found to be moderate level, and players playing in different clubs were identified different levels of mental imagery.
